About This Website

Change Of Contact Details
If you have made any changes to your name, address or contact details, please let us know as soon as possible. You can be do this in person at Reception or by phoning, emailing or writing to us directly.
Complaints
We are always striving to improve our standard of professional service for our patients. If you have suggestions on how we can make improvements, or if you are unhappy with the service you have received, please let us know. Data Breaches
We manage your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the IMC Privacy Policy. We also have a Data Breach Policy and Response Plan in place to ensure that we contain, assess and respond to any data breaches expeditiously and mitigate potential harm to the person(s) affected.
Disabled Access
We have a ramp that provides wheelchair access to the building. In addition, our surgery entrance and consultation rooms all have wide doors to allow for wheelchair access.
Electronic Communications
General practices are increasingly using electronic communication to correspond with patients and other health professionals.
Our practice Electronic Communication Policy covers the use of email, SMS, internet and social media and supports the practice’s Social Media Policy.
GP Registrars
We are privileged to be a training practice for GPs of the future, in association with Western Australian General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET). You may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar. These doctors are completing their specialist training as a GP and are fully qualified, with experience in several hospital specialties.
Medical Students
We also teach medical students from the University of Western Australia and Notre Dame. You may, at times, be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present.
You will always be asked in advance if you are happy to have a student present at your consultation. If you would prefer not to, then simply ask to have your consultation in private.

Patient Rights and Responsibilities
We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similarly respectful way. As our patient, we kindly ask that you:
- Inform us of any name, address or contact detail change as soon as possible.
- Keep a record of when you or your children are due for routine tests, regular health checks and immunisations.
- Go for the tests that your doctor has referred you for.
- Attend appointments, if your doctor has referred you to a specialist.
- Remember to take referral letters, test request forms and x-rays to the appropriate appointments.
- Make any necessary follow up appointments to discuss test results.
- Refrain from any photography, filming or recording while in our practice, in order to protect the privacy of our patients and staff.
Research
We actively participate in medical research studies. Patient identifying information is removed from any information supplied for research purposes, as per the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) guidelines. As our patient, you have the right to know what information we hold about you and you can access your records at any time by contacting our Practice Manager.
We employ SmartVax to actively monitor the safety of all vaccines given at our practice. This data, with all personal information removed, is also monitored by AusVaxSafety – a national vaccine safety surveillance system led by the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (ncirs) and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. AusVaxSafety may use the information provided by SmartVax to recommend changes or improvements to existing vaccine programs in Australia.
In addition, we use SmartStartAllergy to better understand food allergies in infants. SmartStartAllergy is an exciting collaboration between SmartVax and the National Allergy Strategy (NAS) and is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The data from SmartStartAllergy, along with all personal information removed, supports the National Allergy Strategy Food Allergy Prevention Project to allow better understanding of this important issue and improve support to GPs and parents.
Violent or Abusive Behaviour
We take any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff and patients very seriously. If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. If it continues, we may exercise our right to take action and have them removed immediately, if necessary. We also reserve the option to remove the person from our list of patients.
