Children’s health care is a strong focus here at Illawarra Medical Centre in Ballajura.

We can provide assessments, as well as ongoing management, for a range of services from birth to adolescence.

ASAVI SORE THROAT STUDY

Illawarra Medical Centre is participating in the ASAVI Sore Throat Study for kids aged between 3-14 years.

Led by researchers from the Telethon Kids Institute and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), the Sore Throat Study will help researchers learn more about how many children are getting sore throats, what is causing them, and how sore throats change during different seasons.

The study will be an important first step towards a vaccine against Strep A, one of the main causes of sore throats that can lead to severe diseases when left untreated.
